Violet and her sister Rosebud were found as strays and taken to a rural county dog shelter. When they weren’t claimed, they both made the trip to Canine Lifeline so they would be able to receive lots of TLC as they searched for permanent new homes. These girls look to be Lab/Beagle/Corgi mixes and are extremely cute! They are about 10 months to a year-old so still have plenty of puppy energy and mannerisms. Violet came into the shelter with some hairloss and itchy skin which our vet diagnosed as demodectic mange (the type that is NOT contagious to other dogs or people). She is currently on Bravecto, the 3 month tick and flea preventative, which is also effective again demodectic mange mites. Her skin and coat are already looking better and with a continued good diet in her new home, she will really thrive. Violet looks especially like a Yellow Lab/Corgi mix with her coloring and short little legs. She loves playing with other dogs so would enjoy having a canine pal in her new home. Toys of all kinds keep her occupied too—she is a very entertaining little dog! Leash walking is still a work in progress for Violet and her sister. Having a canine role model in her new home should help her pick up lots of new things including leash walking. Violet has been working on crate-training and housetraining in her foster home and should continue both in her new home. Violet weighs about 21 pounds and her adoption fee is $250. She’s spayed, heartworm negative and on monthly preventative, up to date on vaccinations including bivalent canine influenza, wormed, on flea preventative, and microchipped. All Canine Lifeline adoptions come with a two-week adjustment period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email if you’re interested in Violet. An approved application is required before we schedule meets with any of our dogs. We have no foster homes with young children so aren’t comfortable placing any of them in a home with children less than 7 years of age. We try to respond to inquiries within 72 hours so if you haven’t heard from us within that time frame, please check your junkmail or spam folder to make sure our reply hasn’t landed in there.
