Walter is an adorable 5 year-old Papillon mix male with really impressive ears who was surrendered by his owner along with his buddy Winston because her boyfriend was abusive to the dogs. We don’t know what type of abuse they suffered but we’re happy she made the decision to get them out of a dangerous situation. Walter is completely charming but does seem to have some neurological issues that give him an odd gait and jerky movements. It’s nothing that slows him down though. He’s as happy, outgoing, and playful as any dog we’ve met. Walter and Winston are a bonded pair and do need to be adopted together. They love playing with each other and after playtime is over, will curl up for a nap together. Walter has had excellent crate manners in his foster home and may be housetrained too although we can’t guarantee it. He walks well on a leash and enjoys going for a stroll with his buddy Winston. Walter has been friendly with all people and other dogs he’s met since coming to us so would likely be fine joining a family who already has a little canine companion or two. We can’t wait to see these wonderful boys living the rest of their lives as treasured family members. Walter weighs about 12 pounds and his adoption fee is $325. He’s neutered, heartworm negative and on monthly preventative, up to date on vaccinations including bivalent canine influenza, wormed, on flea and tick preventative, and microchipped. Since coming to Canine Lifeline, he’s had a dental cleaning with a few extractions and now flashes a pearly white smile. As part of the adoption process, all adopters must commit to a two-week adjustment period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email if you’re interested in Walter and Winston. An approved application is required before we schedule meets with any of our dogs. Please note that we don’t place our dogs in homes with children under 7 years of age. We correspond via email so please check your junkmail or spam folder to make sure our reply hasn’t landed in there.
