Zeus is a very kind and gentle 3 year-old Lab mix male who was headed to an overcrowded rural county dog shelter along with his buddy Rhett when their owner could no longer care for them. A shelter volunteer intervened to find a rescue to take them so they wouldn’t have to sit in the overcrowded shelter. They both made the trip to Canine Lifeline so they could get used to indoor life in foster homes while searching for permanent new homes. It appears that both dogs lived primarily outdoors before coming to Canine Lifeline so they have had a lot to learn about indoor life. We have been very impressed with what a mild-mannered, calm dog Zeus is. He gets along very well with other dogs so would probably enjoy having a canine buddy. He woud also likely be fine as the only dog in the home as long as his family has plenty of time to spend with him. Zeus enjoys attention from his human friends and looks forward to living the rest of his life as a pampered family member. He has done very well with crate-training so should be able to master the house rules without too much difficulty. He walks nicely on a leash, knows the sit command, and takes treats very gently. Whoever adopts this sweet boy is going to have a best friend for life. Zeus weighs about 55 pounds and his adoption fee is $250. He’s neutered, heartworm negative and on monthly preventative, up to date on vaccinations including bivalent canine influenza, wormed, on flea and tick preventative, and microchipped. As part of the adoption process, all adopters must commit to a two-week adjustment period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email info@caninelifeline.org if you’re interested in Zeus. An approved application is required before we schedule meets with any of our dogs. Please note that we don’t place our dogs in homes with children under the age of 7 years. We correspond via email so please check your junkmail or spam folder to make sure our reply hasn’t landed in there.
