Zina-PENDING

If you love large dogs, you will want to meet Zina! This beautiful 1 year-old Saint Bernard/Shepherd mix female has a sweet and loving disposition to go with her good looks. We don’t have any history on her previous life as she came to us from an overcrowded county dog shelter after they had pulled her from a neighboring county shelter. Since she arrived at Canine Lifeline to work on finding a wonderful new home, we have found that Zina does very well with other dogs. For a young dog, she is pretty low-key and relaxed. She plays a little with her fellow foster dogs but isn’t overly rambunctious. She settles down nicely in her crate once playtime is over and has excellent crate manners. While we can’t guarantee that she’s housetrained, we expect that she should be able to pick up the house rules quickly in her home. For a large dog, she does pretty well on a leash. Although there are no cats in her foster home, Zina seemed laser focused on the resident kitty at the vet clinic so we do want to place her in a kitty free home. She would also do best in a home with a secure aboveground fenced yard as she does seem to like to chase small critters. Zina arrived at Canine Lifeline very thin at only about 50 pounds. She is working on gaining about 20 pounds to be at her ideal weight of about 70 or so. Zina has a very thick puppy coat which she is shedding now. Her new family will have to be onboard with dealing with lots of shedding and grooming with this girl. Her adoption fee is $250. She’s spayed, heartworm negative and on monthly preventative, up to date on vaccinations including bivalent canine influenza, wormed, on flea preventative, and microchipped. All Canine Lifeline adoptions come with a two-week adjustment period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email info@caninelifeline.org if you’re interested in Zina. An approved application is required before we schedule meets with any of our dogs. Please note that we don’t place our dogs in homes with children under 7 years of age. We try to respond to inquiries within 72 hours so if you haven’t heard from us within that time frame, please check your junkmail or spam folder to make sure our reply hasn’t landed in there.
