Rainy and her sister Stormy are 1 year-old Collie/Shepherd/Corgi mixes with short legs and long bodies who were surrendered to an overcrowded county dog shelter by their owner. We don’t know why they were given up but it’s a good thing they were because both girls look to have received very little care. Both appeared to have never been groomed and were blowing their puppy coats. Before their pics were taken, Rainy and Stormy had a good grooming with enough hair removed from each dog to cover another dog their size! That was followed by a good bath, likely the first one they’d ever had. Rainy is a shy but very sweet young dog who’s looking forward to having her very own loving home and family. She gets along well with her sister and every other dog that she’s met. Given her shyness, we do want to place her in a home with another dog to help boost her confidence. Rainy is a clever girl and can get over a four foot fence. It seems like she had no experience on a leash before coming to us so that is something she’s still trying to get comfortable with. Having another dog to walk with will certainly help her. Rainy has had no accidents in her crate in her foster home so should be able to master the housetraining rules in her new home without too much trouble. Rainy weighs about 25 pounds and her adoption fee is $200. She’s spayed, heartworm negative and on monthly preventative, up to date on vaccinations, wormed, on flea preventative, and microchipped. All Canine Lifeline adoptions come with a two-week trial period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email info@caninelifeline.org if you’re interested in Rainy. An approved application is required before we schedule meets with any of our dogs. All of our dogs come to us from county dog pounds so we have no history on them. We also have no foster homes with young children so aren’t comfortable placing any of them in a home with children less than 4-5 years of age. We try to respond to inquiries within 24-48 hours so if you haven’t heard from us within that time frame, please check your junkmail or spam folder to make sure our reply hasn’t landed in there.
Rainy-ADOPTED!

Rainy is such a sweetheart. She was so ready to cuddle. After she nudged her way into my heart, she rolled over and was more than willing to let me give an extended belly rub. She will be a great snuggle bug to someone’s family.
I cannot believe Rainy is still looking for her loving forever home! I fall more in love with her every time I see her. She is so sweet and such a love bug. She seems to be overcoming her shyness and loves the attention (and belly rubs!!) she gets from people she meets. Her pictures do not do her justice – she is even more adorable in person and has the softest coat of fur you can’t help but pet her (which of course she doesn’t mind!).
Rainy is a real cutie! She loves to be in the middle of things, playing with my other dog and snuggle time especially. She needs some patience and practice walking on a leash and with house training. She loves people, other dogs, chew toys (especially squeaky ones). When she wags her tail, the whole back half of her moves. She’s just so funny!
I spent most of the day at the Reunion Picnic with Miss Rainy by my side(she was helping me to see 50/50 raffle tickets). First of all, she’s much cuter than her pictures(and her pictures are cute!), but sh’e a real cutie in person. I can’t say enough about her and her sweet temperament! What a doll! Despite being young, she seemed very mellow and loves nothing more than being petted and loved on. She was curious about other dogs and seems to love people(especially those who pet her!). Despite her sad past, she seems very eager to meet new people and new dogs. She’s petite but not too small, and would make an awesome pet for any loving person!!
